At Walker Ranch, we believe in knowing where your food comes from. That’s why we’re proud to offer beef shares directly from our ranch. Our Black Angus cattle are raised on a diet of grass, grain, and hay, ensuring they get a healthy, varied diet that makes for great-tasting beef. All of our beef is hand-cut to order into your favorite steaks, ground beef, roasts, and more.
How Our Beef Share Program Works
When you purchase a beef share, you’re buying a portion of a live steer. The price is based on the hanging weight, which is $4 per pound, paid directly to Walker Ranch.
What does this cost?
On average, a side share of beef weighs about 300 pounds. At $4 per pound, that works out to about $1200 for your share.
Processing is handled by M&M Custom Butchering and includes a $35 processing fee, plus $0.61 per pound for the cut and wrap. Your beef will be dry-aged for 14 days, ensuring the best flavor. Once the beef is ready, you can contact the butcher to place your order for the specific cuts you want.

Beef Share Options
We offer three different beef share options to fit your family’s needs:
Quarter Beef
$500 – $750
You’ll be purchasing a quarter (1/4) of a steer, which will yield approximately 100 to 125 pounds of cut and wrapped beef.
- $250 deposit due by September 15, 2020
- Balance due by December 15, 2020
Your beef will be available for pickup at M&M Custom Butchering a couple of weeks after processing.
Side Beef
$1000 – $1500
A half (1/2) steer will give you approximately 200 to 250 pounds of cut and wrapped beef.
- $500 deposit due by September 15, 2020
- Balance due by December 15, 2020
Your beef will be available for pickup at M&M Custom Butchering a couple of weeks after processing.
Whole Beef
$2000 – $3000
A whole steer will yield approximately 400 to 500 pounds of cut and wrapped beef.
- $1000 deposit due by September 15, 2020
- Balance due by December 15, 2020
