Beef Share Reservations for January 23 Butcher Date

Know who your food comes from. Walker Ranch is now taking reservations for beef shares. We will deliver steers to the butcher on January 23, 2023. We raise our Black Angus cattle on a diet of grass, grain, and hay. We feel some variation in their diet is beneficial. Beef is hand-cut to order into steaks, ground beef, roasts, and other cuts.

You decide which beef share works best for your family. Fill out our order form, the cut sheet, and return both with your deposit.

We will deliver your beef to M&M Custom Butchering for processing on January 23, 2023. This is when we will let you know what the hanging weight is and how much your final payment is.

Your beef will be dry aged for 14 days then custom processed and vacuum sealed. The butcher will call you when your beef is ready for pickup.

Whole Beef Share

$2,500.00 – $4,000.00

You are purchasing a whole (1) Black Angus steer at $4.75 per pound hanging weight. A $1,000.00 deposit is due to reserve your order. Processing is extra and paid to the butcher at pickup. You will receive approximately 400 to 500 pounds of cut and wrapped beef.

Half Beef Share

$1,250.00 – $2,000.00

You are purchasing half (1/2) Black Angus steer at $4.75 per pound hanging weight. A $500.00 deposit is due to reserve your order. Processing is extra and paid to the butcher at pickup. You will receive approximately 200 to 250 pounds of cut and wrapped beef.

Quarter Beef Share

$625.00 – $1,000.00

You are purchasing a quarter (1/4) Black Angus steer at $4.75 per pound hanging weight. A $250.00 deposit is due to reserve your order. Processing is extra and paid to the butcher at pickup. You will receive approximately 100 to 125 pounds of cut and wrapped beef.

Beautiful herd of fall bred cows in Miami, OK. Ten commercial black Angus and two commercial Herefords. Five to ten years old. They were with two registered black Angus bulls from December 1, 2021, to March 1, 2022.

These ladies have never let us down, calving every year! Easy births and great mamas. They’ll make you an outstanding set of cows that’ll raise good calves for another five to ten years!

Home raised and well cared for (maybe a bit spoiled). Easy to handle. Big and healthy.

Know who your food comes from. Walker Ranch is selling beef shares in the Fall of 2020. We raise our Black Angus cattle on a diet of grass, grain, and hay. We feel some variation in their diet is beneficial. Beef is hand-cut to order into steaks, ground beef, roasts, and other cuts.

You are buying a share of a live steer. The price is based on the hanging weight – $4 per pound – paid to Walker Ranch. “What is this actually going to cost me?” The average side share of beef is 300 pounds. At $4 per pound, that equals $1200.

Processing is $35 plus $0.61 per pound (cut and wrap) paid to the butcher, M&M Custom Butchering. Beef will be dry aged for 14 days. You can call the butcher and order the cuts you want.

Quarter Beef

$500 – $750

You are purchasing a quarter (1/4) of a steer. After processing, you’ll receive approximately 100 to 125 pounds of cut and wrapped beef. $250 deposit due September 15. The balance is due December 15, 2020. Your beef will be available for pick up at M&M Custom Butchering a couple weeks after.

Side Beef

$1000 – $1500

You are purchasing half (1/2) of a steer. After processing, you’ll receive approximately 200 to 250 pounds of cut and wrapped beef. $500 deposit due September 15, 2020. The balance is due December 15, 2020. Your beef will be available for pick up at M&M Custom Butchering a couple weeks after.

Whole Beef

$2000 – $3000

You are purchasing a whole steer. After processing, you’ll receive approximately 400 to 500 pounds of cut and wrapped beef. $1000 deposit due September 15, 2020. The balance is due December 15, 2020. Your beef will be available for pick up at M&M Custom Butchering a couple weeks after.

2018 Calves For Sale

Our 2018 commercial Black Angus calves are available for purchase. There are six (6) heifers and seven (7) steers. They were born in September and October of 2018. All easy, unassisted births. We cross-fenced weaned the calves in July of 2019. After six weeks they rejoined the herd.

These boys and girls are gentle, bunk broke, and up to date on shots.

2017 Steer For Sale

We have one commercial Black Angus steer available for purchase. He was born in September of 2017. His sire is a registered Black Angus. He was weaned in May 2018 without issue. After six weeks he was released with the rest of the herd. Approximately 800 pounds. Gentle, bunk broke, up to date on shots.

Cow/Calf Pairs For Sale

Commercial Black Angus cow/calf pairs. All cows were born February/March 2012. They were with a registered Black Angus bull from December 2018 to March 2019. Possible 3-in-1 package! None of these girls have let us down yet, producing calves every year. Low birth weight, excellent mothers, good growers. Gentle (will eat out of your hand), bunk broke, all shots.
